Primaflor

Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum synthetic antibiotic in the phenicol group that is active against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria isolated from domestic animals. Florfenicol acts by inhibition of protein synthesis at the ribosomal level and is bacteriostatic.

Composition:

Each 1 gm contains:
Florfenicol 500 mg

Target species:

Chicken and fish

Indication:

Poultry:
- Colibacillosis, Salmonellosis and bacterial respiratory diseases.
- Cholera due to Pasteurella multocida; susceptible to Florfenicol
- Mycoplasma and other chronic respiratory disease, infectious rhinitis
caused by airbag opacity, cough, airway cough up, breathing difficulties
Fish:
- Enteric septicemia caused by susceptible strains of Edwardsiella; in cat fish
- furunculosis caused by susceptible strains of Aeromonas salmonicida in salmon fish

Dose:

For oral administration:
Chicken: 20-30mg / kg body weight, twice a day or 1 gm / 4 litre drinking water for 3-5 days
Fish: 10-15mg, once a day for 3-5 consecutive days
