Cozina
Is a semi-synthesized macrolide. It has an antibacterial spectrum spectrum that is predominately Gram-positive with activity against certain Gram-negative micro-organisms, used in poultry, for the treatment and control of respiratory diseases associated with mycoplasma and other organisms susceptible to tilmicosin, act by Binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome and inhibiting translocation of peptidyl-tRNA from the A site to the P site. The result of this inhibition is that bacteria are not able to complete proteins that are essential for life, they are bacteriostatic, tilmicosin is excreted mainly via the bile into the faeces, with a small proportion being excreted via the urine. Bromhexine accelerates the tilmicosin penetration into body tissues, achieving higher and faster concentrations than when given tilmicosin alone.
