Third Generation Cephalosporin The bactericidal activity of cefotaxime results from the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis (during the period of growth) caused by an inhibition of penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) like transpeptidases, has a relatively wide spectrum of activity aganist both gram-positive and gram -negatine , it is time dependent antibiotic

Each vial contains:
Cefotaxime sodium 5.2 gm
equi. to Cefotaxime base 4 gm

Poultry

Indications:

Poultry:
- CRD infection.
- Fowl Cholera (Pasteurella multocida).
- Clostridial infections (Necrotic Enteritis).
- Enteritis and diarrhea due to E. coli & Salmonella.
- Control of chicks death caused by E.coli & Salmonella, Pseudomona
Staphylococcus.

Dose:

- For most birds: 50 - 10 mg / kg I/M.
- One day old chicks: 0.3 – 0.5 mg/ one chick I/M or S/C
May be used with aminoglycosides, but nephrotoxicity may occur
