Erythroprima
A macrolide antibiotic which interferes with microbial synthesis. Erythromycin has bacteriostatic and bactericidal activities depending on its concentration. is primarily active against gram-positive organisms and has a wide application in the treatment of infections due to staphylococci, streptococci, pneumococci and enterococci. It is also active against other pathogens which include corynebacteria, clostridia, haemophilus, neisseria, spirochaetes and mycoplasma.
Composition:
Each 1 gm contains:
Erythromycin Thiocyanate 200 gm
Equi. to erythromycin base 185 mg

Indications:
- Treatment of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma infections
- Treatment of infectious respiratory diseases due to erythromycin-sensitive bacteria
such as Staphylococcus aureus (e.g. infectious arthritis),
- Infectious coryza due to Haemophilus paragallinarum
- Streptococci infections and Pasteurella multocida (e.g. pasteurellosis; pneumonia) and
infectious Synovitis in poultry
Dose:
1.4 gm / litre drinking water for 3-5 days
